FRAME TOKYOの写真展を熱海で開催することになりました。
FRAME TOKYO is going to organize a photo exhibition.
あえてギャラリースペースでは無い場所で
Not at a gallery, but at a hidden luxury hotel
見てください。上の写真。美しい。。
僕の知ってる熱海の風景ではありませんでした。
ずっと見ていられる海景。
この海景が見れる場所、”UMITO VOYAGE ATAMI”。
ご縁あって、今回”UMITO VOYAGE ATAMI”という隠れ家的ラグジュアリーホテルにて
FRAME TOKYO写真展および僕の個展を開催させていただくこととなりました。
Did you realize how beautiful the view is?
It is not the Atami I’d known for a long time.
It is the “UMITO VOYAGE ATAMI” where you can witness this beautiful view with your own eyes.
I am so happy that FRAME TOKYO exhibition and my individual exhibition are going to be held at this beautiful place.
外で写真展をやりたい。と考えていた
Long-time desire for the exhibition outside
以前から、漠然と写真展を外でやりたいなぁと考えていました。代々木公園とかで。いわゆるギャラリーとかカフェなどの店内と言ったら閉鎖的な空間ではなくて、シーンの一部として、写真と環境が一体になるようなイメージ。でも、実際にはなかなかムズカしそうだなぁと思っていました。そんな時”UMITO VOYAGE ATAMI”というホテルを知り、この写真を見ました。
ここでやりたい！
瞬間的にそう思いました。公園では無いけどこの開放感溢れる屋上は、まさに風景と一体化していて、ここに写真を展示できたらと思ったのです。
I’d long been thinking of organizing a photo exhibition somewhere outside - say in a Yoyogi-park, for example. Unlike closed places such as galleries, but somewhere the photography and the surrounding environment merge together to make up one scenery.
And when I saw this photo, immediately I felt it to be the perfect place for that - I could imagine photography and the environment becoming one together.
ダメ元で聞いてみた
Giving it a shot
知り合いが話をしてくれて、「やりましょう！」ということに。正直驚きました。しかも複数回。そういうことで、FRAME TOKYOの展示会と僕自身の個展をさせていただくことになりました。
And the answer was yes!! Thanks to my friend who talked to the owner, he decided to let us organize the exhibition multiple times.
写真と施設のマリアージュを考える
Thinking of the “marriage” between the photography and the facility
ギャラリーは何も無いスペースなので、自由にコンセプトを考えて展示出来ますが、今回の場所はホテルなので、ホテルの雰囲気がスペース自体にあります。それと展示内容が合うようにコンセプトを考えました。そこが合わないと一体感が出なくチグハグになりかねないと思ったのです。そうなると写真も施設の雰囲気も台無しになってしましそうなので、慎重になります。FRAMEのメンバーと今回ゲストで参加する人たちとミーティングして、テーマを
「光」としました。施設に降り注ぐ「光」とその中で展示される「光」が印象的な写真たち。写真の原点である『光で描く』を重ね合わせてテーマとしました。
To create a space where the photography and place is one, I needed to be careful about choosing a theme which does not disturb the atmosphere of the hotel. The theme decided at the meeting is the “light” - by exhibiting photos of “the light” at a place where the light comes through the windows, I thought we can explore the meaning of the starting point of photography- “to picture with light”.
写真鑑賞だけでなく、ゆっくりした時間を楽しんで欲しい

”UMITO VOYAGE ATAMI”には、素敵な海景とラグジュアリーな空間とレストラン（ソフトドリンク・アルコールも楽しめます）があります。写真を鑑賞した後に、時間と共に美しく色味が変化していく海を眺めながらお酒を楽しんだり、デッキに出てその美しい海を写真に収めたりと、都会と違うゆったりした時間を過ごしてもらえたらと思っています。
