Description
“In ordinary, seemingly empty places where silence prevails, I press the shutter when I sense an indescribable presence.”
On a quiet street corner in Shibuya, Tokyo, beneath a sky on the verge of rain, a solitary robot stands within the geometric lines of the surrounding architecture, gazing upward.
In this image, my attention rests not only on the physical layers that separate the scene, but also on the unexpected humanity I perceive in this machine, and on the “quiet distance” that exists within the stillness of the city.
Through my street photography, I seek to reveal the invisible, unspoken presence that quietly resides within the seemingly ordinary moments of everyday life.
Biography
Since acquiring a Leica M10 three years ago, walking the streets with a camera has become the artist’s way of finding complete stillness and mental clarity. Through the lens, the artist searches for the invisible “something” that undeniably exists between the self and the subject.
