FRAME TOKYOは、皆様のサポートのおかげで今月で２周年を迎えました。ありがとうございます。今年もグループ展の開催を予定しておりましたが、この状況下での安全確保の観点から残念ながら開催を見送ることとなりました。その代わりに、ストリート撮影のためのガイドブックを作る「TOKYO GUIDE PROJECT」をはじめした。
This year marks the second anniversary that FRAME TOKYO has been created because of your many supports .We all would like to say thank you to all of you who support FRAME TOKYO.
Also because of COVID-19 and decision to keep everyone’s safety and health, our new group photo exhibition has been postponed, but instead of that, we have started a new project that create a photo book that also functions as a guide book for street photographers called, “ TOKYO GUIDE PROJECT. “

TOKYO GUIDE, That is a Guide Book for Shooting Street Photography
COVID-19が猛威を振るう以前は、ここTOKYOには沢山の訪日客で溢れていました。それを街中で眺めていて、かなり多くの人が熱心に街の写真を撮っていることに気づきました。インスタグラムのDMでメッセージをいただき、訪日した際に東京を一緒に撮り歩くことも多々ありました。そんな経験から、訪日された方が、東京の街を撮る際のガイドになるものがあったらどうだろ？と思いました。街の雰囲気を伝える写真や作例の写真を通して、どこでどのような写真が撮れるのかをイメージできるガイドブック。しかもそこには撮影地が記載されていて、その記載された住所をマップアプリにコピペすれば、そこまでナビゲートしてくれる。そんなスマートフォンに収まりマップアプリと連動するガイドブックだったら便利だろうなと思いついたのが、ストリート撮影のためのガイドブック「TOKYO GUIDE」です。
Before pandemic, Tokyo was always crowded with lots of visitors. Interestingly, we saw many street photographers who shoot photos in the city, and thankfully we got many messages from photographers who live in foreign countries through Instagram. We could walk around the city to take photos when they come to Tokyo.
From those experiences, we thought that it would be helpful for street photographers, especially people who came from their countries if we make some medias that function as a kind of guide book. The book would provide both photos that viewers are able to get sense of each areas characters in Tokyo and exact information of location where they were taken. Therefore, book users are able to visit shooting spots to just copy and paste information to your own map apps.
We came up with the idea that it would be really helpful for street photographers if TOKYO GUIDE users are able to see the book through smartphone and work with map apps to explore shooting locations. TOKYO GUIDE is a new experiential book for shooting street photography.

最初は印刷物にしようと思いましたが、スマホのマップアプリと連動したナビゲーション機能とスマホに入ることで撮影時に荷物にならない利便性、オフラインでも使えることを考慮して、「TOKYO GUIDE」は、PDF配布というスタイルにしています。
We first were going to make TOKTO GUIDE for a printed book. However, we thought it would be much convenient if we make as a digital photo book that users are able to look at the book and use their map apps to visit shooting locations listed on the book. Especially users do not need to carry around so that they are able to look at the book anytime anywhere very easily.
Therefore, we decided to provide TOKYO GUIDE digitally as PDF document.
区単位のシリーズ構成の「TOKYO GUIDE」
TOKYO GUIDE is a Series of Photo Book / Guide Book composed by Different Wards in Tokyo
「TOKYO GUIDE」は撮影ロケーションを探しやすくするために、区単位で１冊にしています。PDFファイルのため、すべての区を一冊にまとめてしまうとページ数が多すぎてページ検索がしんどくなってしまします。区単位にし、ストリート撮影のロケーションに適したエリアを厳選することで、ページ数を抑えページスクロールを楽にしています。
We created “TOKYO GUIDE “ separately by different wards in Tokyo that users are able to find locations easily. We considered that it would be too much and complicated if we put Every photo taken at every wards in Tokyo in a book, and users would not be able to search locations easily. Therefore, we decided to publish TOKYO GUIDE by each ward as a serious of photo / guide book.

TOKYO GUIDE is a Combination of Photo and Guide Books
「TOKYO GUIDE」は、その街の雰囲気を伝える写真とFRAME TOKYOのメンバーが撮影したストリートフォトを折り混ぜて編集した写真集スタイル。「普段は写真集として楽しみ、東京に来た際はガイドブックとして使う。」そんな使い方をイメージして作られています。それらの写真にインスパイアを受けて、実際にその場所に立ち、自身の目で見て、自身の視点でその街を切り取る。そしてその写真をインスタグラムの＃frametokyocollectiveタグでシェア。そんな人が増えて、ざまざまな視点で切り取られた東京を見ることができたら、とても素敵だなと思っています。それぞれの写真には、撮影された場所の住所を掲載しています。その住所をマップアプリにコピペするとその撮影地へマップアプリがナビゲートしてくれます。ぜひトライしてみてください。
“TOKYO GUIDE” is a photo book composed by street photography that viewers are able to get sense of each wards characters taken by FRAME TOKYO members. We created the book while imagining that users are able to enjoy looking at the book as a photo book and use the book as a guide book when they visit Tokyo.
We hope that users will be able to get inspirations from photos and take your photos using your new perspectives got through TOKUO GUIDE.
Moreover, we hope to see a lot of different Tokyo captured by lots of different street photographers by sharing with #frametokyocollective on Instagram.
Let’s try to explore many new places in Tokyo where are shared through TOKYO GUIDE. It is easy to visit because you just copy the information of locations listed on the book and paste it to map apps.
第一弾は、中央区銀座・築地・日本橋エリア
The First Edition is about CHUO-Ward Included Ginza, Tsukiji and Nihonbashi Areas
第一弾の区に選んだのは、中央区。FRAME TOKYOのメンバーがよく行く銀座をメインに銀座からも歩いていてる築地と日本橋エリアをセレクト。ショッピングエリアの銀座、東京で有名なフィッシュマーケットエリアの築地、日本の伝統と新しい雰囲気が混ざり合う日本橋と、街の雰囲気が違う３エリアにはストリートフォトに使えるエレメントが多々あり、ストリート撮影のロケーションとして面白いエリアです。東京に来る際は、「TOKYO GUIDE」を手にストリートフォトにトライしてみてください。第二弾は新宿エリアを予定してします。 「TOKYO GUIDE」は、frametokyo.comのshopページにてご購入いただけます。Vol.1、Vol.2とエリアごとに順次販売を開始していきます。お楽しみ！ The First Book is CHUO-Ward edition Included Ginza, Tsukiji and Nihonbashi Areas We chose Chuo-ward as the first edition of TOKYO GUODE. Actually, FRAME TOKYO members usually shoot in Ginza, Tsukiji and Nihonbashi areas. Each area had totally different characters, for instance Ginza is well know as a famous shopping area, Tsukiji is a very famous fish market and Nihonbashi is well know as the place where modern and old traditions are mixed and coexisting. You will be able to capture totally different situations at those three areas.
We hope you will be able to try shooting interesting moments using TOKYO GUIDE first edition. We are planning to chose Shinjuku ward as a second edition. TOKYO GUIDE is available for FRAME TOKYO website, and we will start publishing Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 as soon as possible. We hope all of you will check it out and see you soon!!
